Thomas Dickson is Fuji Xerox Printers’ volume product manager for Australia and New Zealand.  In this role Thomas works closely with Fuji Xerox Printers’ volume customers to bring volume marketing ideas and concepts to market. Thomas joined the Fuji Xerox Printers’ marketing team in 2011 and has broad experience in the IT distribution channel, particularly volume sales and marketing.  Previous to this, Thomas was a retail buyer and has 10 years experience in the retail sector when he held various floor sales staff and head office roles.

The Productivity Commission reports that by 2060, our 75+ age demographic will double, and more than half of employers say that the ageing workforce will have a large or very large impact on their own organisations. The reality — whether we like it or not — is that millennials (roughly defined as people born between 1980 and the early 2000s) are going to be the employees filling the void. Estimates suggest that by 2025, they will account for 75% of the workforce.

If you’re anything like me, you’ve embraced the convenience of smart devices in the home – gone are the days of plugging the computer into the printer or asking friends to tape your favourite shows. Now, a Wi-Fi connection means everything can be done remotely. But have you taken the necessary steps to secure Wi-Fi enabled printers, TVs, game consoles and other domestic devices?

In shocking news last week, a US family revealed its baby monitor had been hacked by an online intruder who gained access by using a default manufacturer’s login. The intruder was able to pan the baby monitor to spy on the family and speak directly to the toddler, raising alarm bells about the security of other devices around the home.
