New research released last week found that SME business owners lose up to 35 working days a year because they cannot progress work due to travel or being away from the office, once again putting the spotlight on how SMEs can efficiently work on the go.
With 58 per cent of SME staff regularly working away from the office, it’s clear that having easy access to the tools you need to do business while away from the office can have a tangible and positive impact on the bottom line.
It’s no secret that technology is the key to working remotely. Well set up systems give you the flexibility to work when and how you need to. It means you can spend the afternoon with the kids and get back to work after they’ve gone to bed, from the comfort of the living room; or extend a business trip into a weekend away, without first having to go back to the office to finish up the week.
Establishing remote working capability may seem like a daunting task so it’s worth working with an IT consultant to pinpoint your needs. They can help with planning and implementing a remote working system that provides access to business data quickly, easily and most importantly, securely. This will include working with you to identify your software and hardware requirements and may often be as simple as a few tweaks to your existing systems.
Connecting the printer to staff mobile devices is a simple step toward creating a flexible work environment. Our research indicates that the majority of SME staff are unable to mobile print at work, yet almost 40 per cent would like to be able to do so.
Hardcopy documents remain an important part of doing business and providing staff with mobile printing provides them with the flexibility to print from anywhere, at any time, from the convenience of their smart phone or tablet. Wireless printing allows them to do the same from their laptop,
making it easier to work from home or any desk in the office.
It makes life easier and means staff can work on the go, saving your business hours of lost productivity.
