Is it just me or are you too finding it hard to believe we’re into week two, of month two already? The year feels like it’s already flying by and I don’t want to waste my time on things that just aren’t important. A key to making sure you don’t waste your valuable time is to look at where you’re spending your time. Is it productive? Is there a better way to get things done?
A recent study that we conducted with CoreData with 1,000 SMEs found printing frustrations were up near the top of leading office frustrations.
With 37.5% saying they regularly waste time on printer-related issues and 51.1% saying they spend more than half an hour a week resolving these issues – no wonder they’re frustrated. Today’s busy climate means we can’t afford to be wasting time, technology is designed to make our lives easier and more efficient, not more frustrating.
At Fuji Xerox Printers we listen to what our customers need when it comes to printing technology, to run an efficient office. Our latest range of printers incorporates the latest technology to ensure SMEs get what they need from their printer.
If you’d like to find the right printing technology to meet your needs and budget, I’ve included some helpful links at the bottom of this article.
Another interesting finding from the research is when SMEs need to buy a new printer, the most important consideration is the ongoing running costs. What I found surprising is that in this research only 15.2% of respondents’ businesses have a managed print services (MPS) contract.
MPS is about outsourcing the maintenance, management and support of your printer devices to a professional third party for a set per-page price each month, irrespective of how the devices under management are being used. The benefit is you only pay for the pages you print.
Large corporations have been employing MPS for years, but this solution isn’t just for enterprise organisations, it’s necessary and available for all SMEs. Managed Print Services is not a one size fits all strategy it relies on understanding the specific pain points of your organisation. Most MPS solutions revolve around providing cost savings and the management of an organisation’s print and copy environment, and in all cases should have the component of continuous improvements around the identified pain points.
The Xerox US & European Managed Print Services Study found that organisations saved an average of 25% to 30% of their printing expenses after employing a Managed Print Service.
