How to bring high quality colour printing back in-house

The professional look and vibrancy of colour document can be vital to a business’ success, so it’s important to get it right. Take for example, a real estate agent who relies on glossy brochures to engage potential buyers, a retail manager that uses vibrant signage to attract customers to special offers in store, or a marketing agency requiring high quality presentations and proofs for clients.

Fuji Xerox Printers recently carried out a survey of Australian business owners and employees and found that one in three businesses regularly outsource its colour printing to a third party printing house. When quality is essential and there’s no option to print quality colour in-house, there may be no alternative. It can, however, be both costly and time consuming.

Phaser 7800 Succeeds At Australian Business Awards 2012

Earlier in the year we launched the Phaser 7800 which has been branded the “new gold standard in colour printing”. The launch generated a lot of excitement within the Fuji Xerox Printers team and among our resellers across Australia and New Zealand.

The excitement has been reignited this month with the Phaser 7800 picking up two accolades at The Australian Business Awards 2012 - the awards for Best New Product and Product Excellence.

With the Best New Product Award 2012, the Phaser 7800 was recognised as having a point of difference from its competitors. The Product Excellence Award 2012 recognises the Phaser 7800 as a market-leading product which demonstrated overall product superiority.

The Power and The Passion

In the past few weeks I’ve been involved in two major product launch events where I had the opportunity to meet many of our customers. First we launched the Phaser 7800 at an exclusive customer event and then we profiled the new ColorQube at the launch of ECOdirectory, a new website that promotes environmentally sustainable products and services.

The Phaser 7800 launch was held in Sydney and, while we believed we had created a compelling reason for people to attend, we also knew that Sydney can be a difficult city to host events in. Most people commute to work from reasonable distances and when you combine this with the often immobilising state of Sydney traffic and the pace of city work life generally it can be hard to judge attendance rates on the day.

We shouldn’t have been so concerned. Attendance was five times larger than we had anticipated based on the normal industry averages for events of this kind.

It was an amazing result and, at the same time, it was a perfect reminder of the power a strong brand carries. The Fuji Xerox brand has been painstakingly built over many years to stand for innovation, quality and reliability. It is a market-leader by sales volumes in nearly every category it sells in.

So it should have also been no surprise that more than half of our attendees were existing customers. These were people who wanted to continue their involvement with our brand and see for themselves what the Phaser 7800 can deliver.
